Q. Which
touch panel controller is supported on the
TabletCARD?
A. The TabletCARD
includes an on-board Fujitsu NC41120-0015
7-wire touch panel controller that
permits the use of Fujitsu 7-wire analog
resistive touch panels. The touch panel
controller connects directly to a USB
2.0 port on the Plug-N-Run G3 module.
Q. What are the
advantages of Fujitsu's 7-wire interface
over the 5-wire touch panel interface?
A.Fujitsu's 7-wire
technology is a competitive solution
to the industry's 5-wire concept.
It introduces diode current switching
of voltages applied to the glass
to enable faster switching and more
linear current flow, especially at
the panel edges.
Using the top film only as a voltage probe provides
the same reliability relative to physical operation
as 5-wire types.
An added advantage of the 7-wire panels are the
4 voltage sense lines that monitor the voltage
fields on the glass, compensating for any variation
caused by physical or environmental changes, such
as temperature and aging, thus assuring the highest
possible accuracy is maintained over the life of
the product.
Q. Which
Fujitsu touch panels are supported by the
7-wire touch panel interface on the TabletCARD?
A. The TabletCARD 7-wire touch
panel interface supports Fujitsu touch panels
available in sizes from 8" to 17".
These touch panels accept both pen and finger
touch inputs. A complete list of 7-wire touch
panels is available from the Fujitsu
website.
Q. Does
the TabletCARD support the Fujitsu 4-wire
touch panels?
A. The TabletCARD hardware
is configured for supporting only the Fujitsu
7-wire touch panels. OEMs can request a TabletCARD
with industry standard 4-wire touch panel
support through PFU Systems' ProDeS professional
design services.
Q. Does
PFU Systems provide a Touch Panel Kit?
A. PFU Systems provides
a 10.4" touch panel kit for use with
the TabletCARD. Contact your PFU Systems
sales representative for details. |
