Q. Which
biometric fingerprint sensor is supported on
the TabletCARD?
A. The TabletCARD
supports the Fujitsu MBF200 fingerprint
sensor mounted on a USB interface board.
This assembly is called the SPF200-USB.
This assembly enables OEMs to develop
biometrically secure physical-access
systems and secure mobile and portable
computing environments quickly.
Q. What are the
features of the Fujitsu SPF200-USB internal
fingerprint sensor module supported on the
TabletCARD?
A. The Fujitsu SPF200-USB
internal fingerprint sensor module
is based on Fujitsu's MBF200 fingerprint
sensor. The fingerprint sensor is
a solid-state device that features
a 256 x 300 pixel sensor array, which
produces a clear 500 DPI, 8-bit grayscale
fingerprint image. The sensor area,
which is approximately 12.8mm x 15mm
(0.5" x 0.6"), allows for
single-touch fingerprint authentication.
The sensor consumes very low operating
and standby power and includes an
Automatic Finger Detect (AFD) circuit
that reduces CPU overhead associated
with continually polling the sensor
for the presence of a fingerprint.
The sensor incorporates programmable
gain control for image optimization
that permits the use of the sensor
for both dry and wet fingers. The
rugged sensor also features an ultra-hard,
patented, scratchproof protective
coating.
Q. What
else is required to integrate biometric fingerprint
authentication into an OEM product?
A. OEMs who wish to integrate
biometric fingerprint authentication into their
systems require the Fujitsu DKF200 software
development kit that includes the driver software
and the world-class "minutia-based" matching
algorithm. Example application source code
and a USB reference design is also provided,
allowing quick and easy integration. Contact
your PFU Systems sales representative for details.
Q. Does
PFU Systems provide a Fingerprint Sensor
Kit?
A. PFU Systems provides
an SPF200-USB internal fingerprint sensor
kit for use with the TabletCARD. Contact
your PFU Systems sales representative for
details. |
