SwissBlade™: FAQs

Power

Q. What type of power supply does the SwissBlade require?
A. The SwissBlade connects to a standard ATX power supply through a 20-pin ATX power socket and requires +12V, -12V, +5V, +5VB and +3.3V for its operation. PFU Systems recommend at least a 100 Watt ATX supply.

Q. Is a CMOS backup battery supported on the SwissBlade?
A. The SwissBlade integrates a vanadium-pentoxide lithium VL1220 type rechargeable coin battery that provides backup power to the CMOS RAM and RTC.

Q. Can I interface a battery management module to the SwissBlade?
A. Yes. The SwissBlade brings out the LPC Bus/SMBus/GPIO signals to the mezzanine expansion header to enable OEMs to design and interface their battery management module
