A. PFU Systems' SwissBlade
is a carrier board for ultra-compact
rugged embedded computing solutions
and uses PFU Systems' Plug-N-Run G3
System-On-Modules (SOM) for embedded
x86 host functionality. The SwissBlade
carrier board and Plug-N-Run G3 module
combined, deliver a small footprint,
low power and high performance embedded
system with flexible PCI expansion.
The Plug-N-Run G3 SwissBlade carrier board is
available in configurations that include combinations
of a vertical PCI slot, a PMC socket and two Type
II PC CardBus slots. A customized version with
a right-angled PCI slot that permits a PCI add-in
card to be oriented parallel to the board may also
be ordered from PFU Systems. These configurations
provide OEMs an optimized solution for an Intel® Pentium® M
or Intel® Celeron® M-based System-on-Module
and carrier board with PCI expansion capability
and other industry standard I/O interfaces in a
compact form factor. Additional industry standard
I/O interfaces include USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394a ports
for imaging and high-speed peripherals.
