KIOSK SERVICE PLATFORMThe PFU KIOSK SERVICE PLATFORM™ (KSP) is a powerful platform that facilitates both the development and operations of web-based kiosk applications. KSP accelerates your time to market while lowering application development, maintenance and servicing costs.
Studies indicate KSP lowers kiosk application development costs by over 50%, accelerates speed-to-market by almost 50%, and significantly lowers maintenance and servicing costs.
KSP controls all I/O devices, monitors all status conditions, controls the terminal and its peripherals, and manages all maintenance and servicing requirements.
KSP’s simple JScript API allows software developers to seamlessly integrate their applications and user interfaces with kiosk hardware and I/O devices.
KSP also provides easy integration of Kiosk services and your Internet strategy including cloud computing.
Nearly 20 years of extensive experience in the kiosk business has allowed PFU to incorporate all the capabilities necessary for operations into KSP.
Non-IT personnel in the organizations can easily manage kiosks and quickly solve most of problems without the help of IT experts or hardware support engineers. This allows organizations to dramatically reduce the cost of operation and support, and increase the availability of Kiosk services.
KIOSK SERVICE PLATFORM has three major functions

1.Secure browser
The KIOSK SERVICE PLATFORM browser is an IE8-based browser that allows developers to use web based development tools and mirror the web’s look and feel in their custom applications. In addition, this function allows easy porting of existing web-based applications to the kiosk.
2.Local kiosk and device control function
KSP controls all devices connected to the kiosk terminal’s I/O ports and uses the local program to monitor all status conditions, control the terminal and its peripherals, and to manage all maintenance and servicing requirements. In addition, the software platform handles all exception conditions locally. KSP uses the intelligent middleware to maintain constant knowledge of the states of all hardware components and kiosk peripherals. In the event of a failure, this detailed information is automatically forwarded to management and maintenance together with suggested repair actions.
3.Management and Maintenance function
KSP sets operation menus, such as volume control, security code settings, shut down and restart functions, log file management as well as software update management. Maintenance guidance is provided on the screen of the kiosk to repair and operations personnel to simplify maintenance.
