About PFU

PFU Systems, Inc. was founded in 1997 as Cell Computing, Inc., and is a wholly -owned subsidiary of PFU Limited of Japan, a joint venture between Fujitsu Limited and Uchida Yoko Co. Ltd. To more clearly identify PFU Systems with our parent company and its heritage, and to create a consistent worldwide brand, Cell Computing, Inc. was renamed to PFU Systems, Inc. on April 1, 2002. The company's headquarters is located in San Jose, California - in the heart of the Silicon Valley, and it maintains engineering, manufacturing and sales facilities located in Plymouth, Minnesota. PFU Systems is a member of the PICMG (PCI Industrial Computers Manufacturing Group) Trade Association and is a founding member of SBTA (Server-Blade Trade Association). PFU Systems is one of the leading sponsors and founding member of the PICMG COM Express committee.

As the pioneer in Computer-On-Module (COM), a.k.a. System-On-Module (SOM) technology, PFU Systems has successfully created a growing market for these products with a worldwide customer base that includes several Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies. The company's markets include appliance servers, gaming, data/telecommunications, test & measurement, medical, defense and homeland security. PFU Systems provides its customers with high performance, low power and ultra-compact COM components. These COM products provide instant embedded x86 host functionality. The company also provides full turnkey-system design and manufacturing services through its ProDeS facility, which combine COM component advantages with custom, system-carrier boards to reduce development time, risk and cost to deliver quick time-to-revenue.
